# Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Your personal reflection belongs to you. Here is how the app handles information,
permissions and external services.

[Terms of Use](https://exaltesglobal.com/clarity-recovery-terms-of-use/)

## Who this policy covers

Clarity Recovery is an app from Agape Labs, a brand of Exaltes Global Private Limited,
Pune, Maharashtra, India. This policy covers the app. The [Exaltes Global website privacy policy](https://exaltesglobal.com/privacy-policy/)
covers this website.

Privacy questions and requests can be sent to [hello@exaltesglobal.com](https://exaltesglobal.com/clarity-recovery-privacy-policy/hello@exaltesglobal.com).
Please do not send your journal, health records or other sensitive details unless
they are necessary to your request.

## Information stored on your device

The app stores your recovery information locally rather than in an Exaltes Global
recovery-data account. This includes:

 * Profile preferences, such as name, age range, gender, country, language, personal
reasons, goal and optional faith preference.
 * Self-check answers and results, streaks, urges, slips, check-ins, journal notes,
   gratitude and habit records.
 * Your chosen accountability partner’s name and phone number, reminder preferences,
   appearance, setup and protection settings.

These records are used to show your progress, personalise your experience and help
you reflect. The app does not require a Clarity Recovery account. Your recovery
entries are not sent to RevenueCat or the content-feed provider by the app.

## Optional health and Instagram features

With your permission, the optional health feature reads steps, sleep and heart rate
through Android Health Connect or Apple HealthKit. The app uses these readings on
your device; it does not upload them to Exaltes Global. You can revoke health access
in your phone’s health or permission settings.

The Instagram follow check reads an export file you choose on your device. It does
not sign in to Instagram or request your password. Matches are based on account
names and may be inaccurate; review them yourself.

## Protection and device permissions

On Android, the website blocker uses a local DNS-only VPN to send website-name lookups
to CleanBrowsing’s Family filter. The DNS provider receives the lookups and network
information needed to answer them, such as your IP address. This feature is not
an anonymity VPN and does not route all your browsing traffic through Clarity Recovery.
On iPhone, the app guides you to a DNS profile.

The optional Android mindful pause uses an accessibility service to notice when
selected apps open and display a pause screen. It is used for this protection feature,
not to upload a record of app use to Exaltes Global.

Notifications, health access, file selection, VPN and accessibility permissions
are requested for the relevant features. You can change or revoke permissions in
your device settings. Some features stop working when their permission is removed.

## Subscriptions and external services

When billing is enabled, RevenueCat works with Google Play or the Apple App Store
to manage purchases and subscription access. These providers process purchase receipts
or tokens, an app-user identifier, subscription status and associated technical
information. This is separate from your locally stored journal and recovery records.
Payment details are handled by the relevant store, not entered into Clarity Recovery.

The app can load research summaries and consented stories from a remote content
feed. The current feed is hosted on GitHub. Fetching it sends an ordinary network
request, which may include your IP address and technical request information. Opening
a research link, helpline, store, app guide or other external service is subject
to that service’s own practices.

## Sharing you choose

The accountability feature opens a prepared message or your device’s sharing interface.
You choose whether to send it and to whom. The recipient and your messaging service
then receive what you send. Ask your partner before adding their contact details.

If you contact us or submit a story, we receive the information you choose to send
and use it to respond or handle the submission. We will obtain your permission before
publishing a personal recovery story. You can contact us about withdrawing that
permission.

## Retention, deletion and security

Your local app records remain on your device until you reset them or remove the
app’s data. Use **Settings → Erase all data** to reset the app. Uninstalling normally
removes its local storage; your operating system or device backup settings may retain
or restore a separate copy. Check those settings if you want to remove backups too.

Resetting or uninstalling does not cancel a subscription or erase store, RevenueCat,
DNS-provider or messaging records. Those providers handle their own retention. Contact
us for help with data we receive through support or story submissions; we retain
that correspondence as needed to address the request and meet applicable legal obligations.

Local storage is not a promise of app-level encryption or absolute security. Protect
your phone with a screen lock, keep it updated and consider who can access its backups.
We cannot remotely retrieve a journal stored only on your phone.

## Your choices and privacy requests

You can edit your profile, switch off faith content, change reminders, stop protection,
revoke optional permissions and erase local records. You can request access, correction
or deletion of information you have sent to us, or raise a privacy concern, at [hello@exaltesglobal.com](https://exaltesglobal.com/clarity-recovery-privacy-policy/hello@exaltesglobal.com).
We will address requests under applicable law; some records may need to be retained
for legal reasons.

If you are a minor, involve a parent or guardian where permission is required, particularly
for purchases or sharing personal information. Parents or guardians can contact
us with privacy concerns. We do not need a child’s recovery journal to handle a
support request.

## Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the app’s data handling changes and revise the date
above. Material changes will be brought to users’ attention through an appropriate
notice. Review the policy for the app version and features you use.
